These eventually evolved into the Elitist line for the USA. This appears to be a Terada made Casino from the 1990s. Matsumoku closed down operation around 1988, and Epiphone contracted with Terada to continue the line. They were very high quality instruments (Casino, Emperor, Sheraton, Riviera) made by Matsumoku in Japan. In the late 70s / early 80s Epiphone made a line of guitars primarily for the Japanese market (although some made it to the USA and Europe). the fret edge binding leads me to believe its some variation on the JLR, but the 'i' in Epiphone has no dot on the headstock. could be a Japan Custom Shop or Elitist made for Japan? I thought all but the absolute best Japan Epis had 3-hole TRCs.even the Elitist had 3holes. it looks like it has USA wiring (just going off the Switchcraft switch)' date=' prob USA P90s, a 2-hole TRC meaning the truss rod opening is probably USA spec, and a 16th fret join. It looks like a john lennon revolution without gold grovers.
